A Burns Day to Remember

Gorgie Workshops don’t do their celebrations by halves! To celebrate Rabbie Burns this year, the Canteen workshop prepared a delicious vegetarian haggis with neeps and tatties, followed by a decadent cranachan made by the Confectionery workshop.

Burns day is not only a chance for Garvald workshops to enjoy a delicious meal together, but also to celebrate Scottish music and culture. Luckily for the folk at Gorgie, there is no shortage of talented performers among their ranks. Calum and Mark addressed the haggis beautifully, James was on the fiddle, Judith sang, Scott read from his Pappy's book of poems, and Rory gave everyone a surprise grand finale with bagpipes in the courtyard!

Thanks to Rebecca in the Joinery workshop for sending the video clips over, and to Daniel Houliston in the Media Workshop for editing it all together!
