A Special Visit from Dr Scott Arthur MP

We were delighted to welcome Dr Scott Arthur MP to Orwell Arts for a tour of our workshops and a glimpse into the vital work we do at Garvald Edinburgh. During his visit, Dr Arthur had the opportunity to meet our talented members and staff and see first-hand how our creative and supportive environments foster skill-building, social inclusion, and personal growth for individuals with learning disabilities. 

We also had the chance to discuss some key challenges impacting charities like ours, including the future of day services in the city and the financial strain posed by the recent NIC (National Insurance Contribution) increase. These conversations are essential as we work to ensure the sustainability of services that are so vital to our members and the wider community.
